One common material is polyester. Polyester - made filter bags are known for their durability and resistance to chemicals. They can withstand relatively high temperatures and are cost - effective, making them suitable for many general - purpose industrial applications. Another material is fiberglass. Fiberglass filter bags are highly resistant to heat, which makes them ideal for processes that involve high - temperature flue gases, such as in power plants or cement factories. The construction of a dust filter bag usually consists of a cylindrical shape with a sealed bottom and an open top. The fabric is carefully woven or felted to ensure a proper pore structure. The pores are small enough to trap dust particles while allowing air to pass through relatively easily.
The filtration process of a dust filter bag is based on several principles. As the dusty air enters the bag, the larger dust particles are initially trapped on the outer surface of the bag due to impaction. These particles collide with the fabric surface and are unable to follow the air stream around the fibers. As the air continues to flow through the bag, smaller particles are captured through a process called interception. The particles come into contact with the fibers as they try to follow the tortuous path of the air through the pores. Additionally, some very fine particles may be captured through diffusion. This occurs when the particles move randomly due to Brownian motion and eventually come into contact with the fibers.
